Midway between Ancona and Pescara airports Montemuse is approximately half way down the peninsular of Italy. Bordering the regions of Umbria, Abruzzo and Lazio this is a rural area with limited public transport. A car is essential, both for getting here from the airport and for exploring the region.
- Ancona – 90 minutes (by car)
- Pescara – 90 minutes
- Bologna (Marco Polo) – 3 hours
- Rome (Fumincino) – 3 hours
- Rome (Ciampino) – 3 hours
Cars can be rented at all airports, with the best deals generally available by renting in advance from your home country.
Although not the nearest, Rome’s two airports have more frequent flights which are often more economical than flights to the regional airports. The three hour drive to Montemuse is very scenic and easy motorway for all but the last 30 minutes. And of course, coming via Rome means you can spend a few days in this glorious city on your way home.
